Recent Publications

This section of the MHRP website presents regular updates of recent published literature relating to a wide range of areas relevant to the health effects of Mn, including consideration of:

measurements and modelling of environmental and occupational Mn exposure; development of biomarkers of exposure or effect; the influence of Mn on health, disease and dysfunction;
physiological, biochemical and cellular mechanisms of effect;
assessment of the influence of genetic and epigenetic factors on Mn susceptibility; and
development and implementation of new medical approaches to the treatment of excessive Mn exposure.

Each update will present, in a categorised fashion (to assist review), citation details for papers published within each period (usually quarterly) relating to the above research areas. The papers presented have been identified through a rigours structured search of on-line databases using a predefined and comprehensive search strategy developed by Institute Scientists and Information Professionals in order to provide the best possible recall.

Updates

In addition to the research being conducted as part of the MHRP, there are many other activities underway world-wide. In order to provide interested stakeholders with up to date information on the scope of global research in progress, and to identify the scientists currently active in relevant fields, the Institute of Environment and Health (IEH) is developing a web-based database of research activities , as part of its contribution in support of the MHRP.
